This is why we need to learn to love ourselves. One of the first steps we can take to love ourselves is being more aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. It’s not enough to just know that we can make a lot of mistakes. We need to know when we are hungry, we need to know when we’re sleepy, and we need to know when we take our pills.
The good news is it isn’t all that difficult to figure out how to love yourself. We just need to know how to love ourselves first. We can learn to love ourselves in the same way we learn to ride a bike, go to school, or learn to drive. We just need to be aware of the good things we do and the bad things we do. That’s the first step.
I think part of the problem is that we have become so used to living in a world where it is all about perfection and being perfect that we lose sight of the fact that we are all imperfect. We have become so wrapped up in our own perfection that we forget that there is nothing perfect about us. We can be happy as hell, but we’re not perfect.
