It’s the end of the world. The last day is finally here and it’s time for you to say goodbye to all your loved ones in a tearful goodbye. You’re on your deathbed when you see a door appear. You can’t open it – but then again, there was never anything stopping you from opening it before now.
If this sounds like something you’ve been waiting for, read on! Here at our opinion blog we discuss what is important and what isn’t in the event of an apocalyptic disaster (or any other life-ending tragedy). We examine why humans are so obsessed with these topics and offer explanations for why many people find comfort in these thoughts.
We have a lot of fun here at End of the World Worryin’. We like to make each other laugh with witty comments and ridiculous posts, such as the “Worst Apocalyptic Disaster” post. We also try to make ourselves useful by offering information about our favorite topics: survival skills and preparedness.
That being said, we are the sort of people who can find humor in any subject. Therefore, it would be disingenuous of us to tell you that you should never over-analyze an apocalyptic scenario. We also recognize that there are things in our lives that we’d like to have more control over: our own emotions and feelings, our health and even the future of the world we live in.
It is also true that most people will not be able to survive an apocalypse by themselves. Therefore, it is important to consider what you would want to occur during a cataclysmic event (or any other type of disaster).
No matter how you look at these issues, there are a lot of valid points that everyone can learn from. Therefore, we hope the following information will be helpful and provide you with answers to the questions you may have.
“What is important in life?” is an extremely obvious question that many people find impossible to answer. People start asking this question when they are young; when they watch TV, read a book or hear their parents talk about what is important in life. Yet for some reason, as adults we find it much more difficult to define importance.
The word “important” can mean many different things to different people. For instance, if you ask an artist what is important, he will probably tell you his work and the instruments that help him create it are important. A musician will say his guitar is important. A young child will tell you his best friends are important.
Most people know a lot about what they consider important because they base their opinions on their own experiences and the things that have influenced them. An art-lover’s idea of what is important in life might be completely different from someone who doesn’t care at all about the arts.
It’s also important to remember that there are a lot of things in life which are not important to any one person. Some people do not care about their own health, while others see it as the most important thing in the world. Certain professions may require certain skills, while other professions will be more dependent on personality and luck.
The way that we answer this question can also depend on our upbringing and how much we’ve been exposed to different cultures. Some people may be raised to value education more than others. A person who is taught the importance of religion in their family may have a different opinion from someone who has never before heard of God.
