A lot of you know the first person I am going to ask about this. It is my boyfriend who is the reason I started this blog. We are both self-averse, so I started this blog to share my experiences in this area. But the title of this post is gonna be all about me n9ne and how I went from being a tech geek to a tech n9ne.
Tech n9ne is one of my favorite words. Technological n9ne describes my personality. I was born and raised in the South End of Chicago. I have an older sister and a younger brother. I grew up in a house with a lot of technology and computers. Like most of my friends, I was a nerd. We used to play video games and movies whenever we could get the chance.
In my youth I was obsessed with video games. I would play them on my dad’s computer in the evenings or on my dad’s VCR. I actually started watching the same video games that my friends were playing in the late-80s (Videogame World). I couldn’t get enough of them. Now, I have a collection of about a dozen video games. They are all video games. Like my older sister, I was always looking for new games to play.
I still play a lot of video games, but I am slowly shifting from the gaming world to the video game world. I am still a nerd, but now I am a nerd with a video game.
For computer nerds, video games are the closest thing to your favorite TV shows and movies. They are the closest thing to the comfort of your own home. And just like your TV shows and movies, they are also the closest thing to the comfort of your own body.
I’m not saying this is a bad thing.I like video games, I just don’t like them as much as I used to. I also still watch a lot of TV, but less so.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a better time than I had playing computer games last night. The gaming world is the closest thing to heaven, and I mean heaven. As long as you have enough money to buy the computer game, there is no way you are going to be able to afford the video game. But even more importantly, the gaming world is the closest thing to heaven for those of us who love video games.
I remember the first time I played a video game, back in the early days of the PlayStation, when it was still a new idea, I was just a kid and I was really into it. I was really into the characters, and I was really into the story. I was also really into the graphics, I thought they were so good that they stole my soul.
Video games have always been a very visual medium, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. When we’re playing in 3D I can’t see my hands all the time, and it’s always distracting, but it means that I can’t see very many of the things I need to see to do my job. If I’m playing with my eyes closed and I can see everything clearly, I can see where I need to go and what I need to do to get there.
I love the whole video game mechanic of getting from point A to point B. It is the backbone of video game graphics, and it really is the entire point behind the medium. But if you have a bad video game, it can feel like you’re stuck in the middle of an endless loop, or that you’re having the time of your life and just never getting anywhere.
