I have always been intrigued by the idea of “tech athletics”, although I must admit I have never actually participated in any of these activities before. The idea of being able to perform certain athletic activities at a higher level, while simultaneously improving your life, has always intrigued me.
I think this is one of those things that people with disabilities tend to struggle with, but I think it’s also something that many people with disabilities can excel at. I mean, I’ve probably performed the greatest number of lifts in my life, but I still get some degree of discomfort when I lift something heavy. I’m guessing this is because I’m not used to it, but the truth is that some people are just naturally more physically active than others.
I just finished a short video that details the history of florida tech athletics, and I think its cool how it breaks the mold in some ways. I think this is the sort of thing most people would enjoy, but for those of us who are more involved in athletics, its actually a great way to stay fit and healthy.
I don’t mean to put any kind of florida tech athlete in a bad light, but I really love that this is a Florida native. I wish more schools were like this, but its nice to know that more of our state is on the cutting edge.
Florida tech athletics is not one of those schools. It is, however, one of the schools that has been a part of a couple of world-class athletic events. The first was the 2004 Athens Olympics, which they won gold in the 100m hurdles. They also won the women’s triple jump at the 2003 World Championships and placed second in the 2000 US Olympic 100m hurdles.
The Tech/Olympics rivalry has been a hot topic for several years. Tech has been consistently trying to get closer to Florida Tech from the start of their rivalry. Florida Tech has been trying to distance themselves from Tech, trying to become more of a football school like Gainesville. The Tech/Florida Tech rivalry can be a lot of fun, but I think Tech has the edge in the past year.
