The idea that there is a single ideal of perfection is a myth. Perfection is a state of being, not an objective of perfection, and it requires careful attention to the things we would like to be perfect.
When I hear the term perfection, I picture a perfect meal, an impeccable dress, or a perfect body, but perfection is anything but a state of being. For some people, perfection is simply the state of having a great body and a perfect partner. For others, it’s something else. For example, a person who wants to be the best tennis player in the world (and has that kind of body) can focus on that one objective and achieve it.
Perfection is like a state of mind, one that we would like to be in. An extremely high percentage of people in the world have been striving for perfection for their entire lives, and for those who haven’t achieved it, they have a great deal of difficulty holding it up against the rest of the world. This is why most of us want to have our cake and eat it too.
When it comes to achieving perfection, we tend to want to do our best while simultaneously not doing too much, as if we are all doing too much. To achieve perfection, we need to try, fail, take a break, and try again. The more we try, the more we fail, and then we need to go back and take a break, before we can continue. One of the most common ways to achieve perfection is to do the same thing over and over again.
That’s why the swedish word rea means “attempt.” We try and fail and then we try again. That goes hand in hand with a lot of the things we do in life. If we do it a second time, we feel like we have achieved something; if we do it a third time, we feel like we’ve learned something. The more often we do something, the more we feel like we accomplished something.
For many people a day is an attempt to achieve perfection. That doesn’t mean a day has to be that attempt. We can have a day where we do everything we can, a day where we accomplish nothing, and a day where we do everything we can.
Its not just about the number of times something is done. Its about the quality of the things we do every single day. If you are not doing something a particular way every single day, then you are not accomplishing anything. On the contrary – you are depriving yourself of the things you want to do. You are not achieving anything because you are actually doing things you dont want to do.
This is exactly why I wish I lived in sweden. I honestly would love to join the swedish nation with all my swedish friends and start a swedish version of our own little kingdom all over again. Unfortunately, in sweden I will be in a prison that will cost me millions of kronor to upgrade. So instead I am doing something I love: painting.
If you don’t want to be in prison, go somewhere else. If you want to be in prison, make sure you’re not in prison.
There’s a reason why I love sweden so much. There are so many things that I love about it. But, I can’t say that I can really explain how. But, since I live in a country where I don’t have the freedom to leave, I think I can give you a few hints and tips.
