This is another term that has been thrown around a lot lately, and it has become really exciting. We are starting to see tech companies like Facebook, Google, and Apple develop “silicon hills.” These are high tech areas that are going to have high tech companies like Google and Facebook come and do things. And they are going to be able to bring the right technology in to do those things.
With this in mind, what exactly are Silicon Hills going to be like? In the future, they’re going to be some sort of super-high tech version of a mall, and you will find yourself wandering around a whole lot more. It’s very reminiscent of the days when the idea of malls were a fad, and they were mostly for people’s grandparents or parents, as opposed to stores that were meant for the general public.
I suspect that there may be a few similarities to the movie theater model of technology diffusion. But in Silicon Hills, the idea of a mall is going to be a bit different from the movie theater model. Instead of one big mall, we will have thousands of smaller retail spaces. When I say “small,” I mean like, smaller than a Starbucks.
The idea of small retail spaces is pretty cool but the reality of it is that there is going to be a real explosion in the number of places that sell things. So I think we’re going to see more of these big-box stores (or big supermarkets) that you see in the movies. They’re a bit more exciting than small, but even then, it’s going to be a lot fewer of them.
The reality of it is that when you consider a new retail location in order to sell your product, your sales will likely suffer. So the reality is that there are going to be many more places where you can put your product for sale. Think about it this way. You have a huge warehouse full of products. You have a warehouse full of people who will come to buy your products. Those people will use your warehouse and you will probably lose money on every sale.
Basically, the reality is that there’s going to be a lot less space in your warehouse. So if you want to sell your products at the best prices you can find, then you need to be a little more creative and innovative, and that means creating more retail locations where you can sell your products.
At the same time, there are ways to make money off of tech-related websites. You might be able to generate income by selling subscriptions to your tech-related website. These subscriptions are basically a perpetual contract that you will automatically renew with your website. Then you can charge people for the use of your website, which is pretty much exactly how Google (Google is probably the biggest example) makes money with ad spots.
What is interesting though is that there are actually multiple ways this can work. You can charge people for your website by selling subscriptions. You can advertise your website with a paid link on your own website. You can even charge people to buy your products in-store – like the Apple Store – which is essentially another website that you create and host on your own domain. These are all legitimate and profitable ways to make money off your tech-related website.
In the beginning, it seems like a lot of people would just buy your products in-store because they are so convenient. That isn’t really the case. I think the real reason is because the tech-focused websites are a very convenient location for people to buy tech products. Because it’s a physical store they can walk to, they’re able to find some great deals and it also means that the owner of your website has more access to the customer.
Its probably more common for a tech company to sell their products online, but the way people use their tech is still the same. Some people will buy technology from their local tech store or from a catalog. Other people will buy online. But there is a huge difference in the ways these people buy tech. The first way is very convenience, and the second is much more expensive.
