Tech-etch is a game that lets you build your own super-powered computer. Each time you build one, you get a power boost (up to a staggering 25 in the latest build), a new ability, and a new character. It’s a new kind of game that is as innovative and addictive as your other favorite game of all time, Zelda. It’s a bit like Minecraft, but I’ve never seen a video game that makes me feel like Im a Minecraftian.
I will say that if you like Minecraft, then you’ll like Tech-etch. All of the power and customization are there, but what I like most is being able to play as the character of your choice. If you like all of the other characters, you wont like Tech-etch and vice-versa. This is not a game that will have you playing with the same character for very long.
Tech-etch is the closest Zelda game Ive played since the one that was released. It has a lot of the same concepts and mechanics as any of the previous Zelda games (like the ability to create your own items, the ability to play as someone from your favorite characters, etc), but it also has a lot of them that have been left out in the previous games.
If you like this game then you will probably like the rest of the game, though maybe not all. The main character, Tech-etch, is sort of a parody of the previous game. There’s a lot of the same dialogue, story, and ideas, but it also has a few different endings that make it a little more unique than the previous game.
Tech-etch is actually an interesting character. In the most recent game he was the last “real” character, and he was also the last character who had a fully-developed reason to exist. Now that he has been created by someone who doesn’t know him, he’s free to do stuff that isn’t his own and basically become his own character.
In previous games he had his own personal agenda as a party-loving, anti-heroic asshat, and now he is a more thoughtful, well-balanced, and mature character. In tech-etch the whole reason he went to the island in the first place was because he wanted to meet and get to know the people who were the reason he was born.
Tech-etch is the first time we’ve seen the tech that was behind this character. It’s not that he’s been a party-loving, anti-heroic asshat. He’s not trying to make a political statement. He’s just a person who likes to play a game for its own sake.
