This article discusses some of the tech traps that I’ve discovered myself through my experience with technology. Many of these are common, but a few of them I’ve found myself in.
Tech traps are the ways we use technology that are completely outside of our normal social circles. For instance, Ive been using the iPhone for almost a decade now, so my tech trap for this iPhone is “I don’t know how to use it.
Tech traps are a big part of the iPhone story, and the iPhone is a great example of why Ive discovered some of these traps. A lot of the time Ive been using the iPhone, Ive had one of those phone calls where it rings and I answer it, and it says “Hey, how are you?,” and I feel absolutely no fear.
Tech traps are pretty obvious, but there’s a lot of them because they’re simple and can be very effective. For instance, one of the more common ones Ive found is where there’s no reason to go to the phone (not because it’s not there), so I answer the phone, and it says Hi. That one usually works.
Theres a few other traps that we’ve found where theres no reason for a phone call, and it says Hey. That one usually works too.
Tech traps are pretty common due to the fact that they can be easy or very difficult to do. The way they work is kind of like that old TV commercial about the two people who have to answer the phone to find out if you have a spare key. One person says they have the key, and the other says they don’t. I think the first person who says they have the key should just answer the phone. They’re not gonna find out unless they answer.
The point is that you want to find the key and answer the phone before the person who says they dont. That way youve made your call, youve done the job, and youve avoided the trap. You would be a lot more likely to get killed if you didnt answer the phone. It can be hard to know just what you need to do to avoid the trap.
In the past when we would walk into a house with the person on the phone, they would usually not turn on the light. It seemed like a good thing to do for them to have to see the light. But now you have to be sneaky. You have to be able to look carefully and see if the person on the phone is actually looking at your phone.
And yes, it’s a trap. By the time you look at the person on the phone, theyve likely already done or said something completely irrelevant for you. It’s not like you can just walk up and ask them about it, or ask them to read your mind.
If you’re looking at a phone and you don’t notice anyone looking at it, that’s a trap. What do you do then? Well, you just might get the answer to your question. Most people don’t think this way, but now a new tech has been created to help you. When you look at your phone and notice a person looking at it, you can tap the screen and tell the phone to turn on.
