I am the proud owner of a Texas Tech bowl game ticket and I love it! I have been fortunate enough to have been to the bowl game in three of the past five years and the Texas Tech bowl game is still one of my favorite.
In the past, Texas Tech’s bowl game was one of the more violent. The Tech team often played in a state with more gun violence, and the bowl game often featured fights over possession of the football, beer, and food at the end of games.
That’s still true this year. But this year, the Tech bowl game featured a much different game than the previous two. You know that Texas Tech’s coach, Kliff Kingsbury, is the all-time winningest coach in college football history? Well, the best bowl game he’s ever played in was a game he played against the University of Louisville in 2008. That game featured a lot of violence, and the Tech bowl game features a lot of violence.
As Tech Bowl Coach Kingsbury pointed out in his bowl speech, the Tech bowl game had a lot of violence because the Tech team was getting bullied. That team was also facing a much tougher opponent this year because the Bowl-of-the-Year winner, the University of Memphis, was going to be the game’s opponent. It was a very close game, and Memphis won 35-32.
In college football, the Tech Bowl is a bowl that features a lot of violence. But even though Tech’s team was getting bullied in the bowl game, they were still able to go on to win 45-6 over Memphis. If the Tech bowl had been the game against Memphis, Memphis would have had a chance to take the title with a win. It’s not surprising that Tech lost the Tech Bowl but only because the Memphis team was better in the bowl game.

Topping the Techs’ bowl record book, and a new Techs bowl record book, is a season where they won a bowl game without having to play to a tie-breaker. They also won their first bowl game since the 1994 season.
