Texas Tech University has a wealth of psychology courses for students. Among the courses, there are courses on the psychology of work, leadership, and management. Other Texas Tech courses are designed for those looking for a deeper understanding of human behavior. I found the following courses to be the best ones for those who want to learn the basics of human psychology.
Some of these are pretty technical and some aren’t, but they’re all interesting and worth taking a look at.
Psychology is something we all learn. It’s just that we learn it better when taught by someone who’s actually working on it than from the latest textbook. The following list is by no means an exhaustive list of psychology courses, but it’s at least a starting point.
Psychology is the study of the relationships between behavior and emotions and between feelings and behavior. The way we treat ourselves and others is a study of those same relationships. The way we interact with each other is a study of those same relationships. That makes it a lot easier to think about the problems we face and act accordingly.
The key word is “studies.” As we see in the following list, it’s not just a fancy phrase that means doing the same thing over and over, but a systematic way to look at the same things that makes it easier to see patterns within relationships. For example, we see how a person with depression responds to certain kinds of triggers. We see why the same person can have different types of anxiety.
As we get older, some of our issues are less likely to ever get solved. We have more issues that we face in our life. The same is true of relationships. If a person is happy, he will be happy regardless of your mood. However, if you are unhappy, you’ll be happier when you are happy.
This is good to know because we are actually having the opposite problem in our relationships. We are all unhappy, and most of us are having more than we have of the “happy” variety. In our relationships we are constantly trying to “fix” our partner. We are constantly trying to make our partner happy. We are constantly trying to be more happy. When our relationships are good they are better, and when they are bad they are worse.
We talk a lot about the theory of mind in a talk, and we often think of it as a kind of mental map, but it is actually a kind of mental map of how we are thinking and feeling, and it is a map of emotions. In psychology, the term “mood” is used to describe how you are feeling, or what you think.
The theory of mind suggests that you can “think” about a situation and be aware of it. One way to think about it is to try to imagine yourself in that situation rather than just being aware of what you’re doing. For example, if you think of yourself walking down the street and see a man crossing the street, you might imagine yourself crossing over and having him stop.
When you’re trying to get your mind to pay attention to something, you might imagine yourself doing it, or imagine what you would do in that situation.
