This topic is really something of a debate. I think the fact that there has been so much debate over who deserves the title “the virginia tech” is just a testament to the fact that we don’t always know what to call the people we’re closest to. It’s hard to know what to say about someone that you’ve only met once.
The fact there has been so much debate over who deserves the title “pitt,” is a testament to the fact that there are so many opinions when it comes to the people closest to us. Its hard to know who to say what to about someone that isnt there.
Virginians tend to have very strong opinion groups; even if we agree to disagree. They get to be the ‘original’ settlers of the state (we call it “Old Virginia”), so it’s no surprise that they have strong opinions about things like slavery, religious laws, and the like.
For me, the issue is more like what to say about someone who isnt there. Theres two choices. First of all, we can call them a ghost. We can say that they are not real. We can say that they are something other than what they normally are. There is a third option, which is to suggest that they are evil person(s) who are trying to mess with us. There is a fourth option, which is to say nothing.
Virginias statement, “We are a product of our own time. We are human beings. We are not perfect beings. We are not equal to the time. We are not equal to one another. We are not equal to anything.
If we want to say that they are something other than what they normally are, we should say it. As for the third option, I think it’s a bit over-the-top. I mean, after all, it’s a time loop.
What I dislike about this is that we can’t expect Virginias statements to be true. We can’t expect that she’s not a person who has a personality disorder or something. We can’t expect that she’s not a person who is trying to mess with us, or that she is evil. And we can’t expect that she is evil.
Virginias statements are made under the cloak of secrecy. To be sure, shes doing something that shes not supposed to be doing. But we can also say that shes doing something that has no chance of being true. She may be evil, or she may not be evil, but either way she is doing something we cant be aware of.
Is a person who has no personality disorder a person who is evil? I dont think so. But I am not a person who has personality disorder either. And I am not sure if shes evil or not. I do know that shes not going to take our money, or be a jerk in the public.
Well, we should hope she is evil. Otherwise, why would we give her the money in the first place? But, we should also keep in mind that virginia tech is not a person. But, she is also not a person. But we can think that she is. She is also not a person, but we can still think she is.
