Virginia Tech is home to more than 200 acres of trees and trees. There is so much to do on this beautiful forested property that we created a series of posts to share our favorite things to do and what’s new on the property.
The main thing that I am excited about is the new Virginia Tech wake forest. Yes, the Virginia Tech Forest is a place where you are allowed to ride around in a single vehicle while you do a variety of activities. It’s a park for the entire family, and you can even see a little bit of the surrounding forest.
This is one of those things that I wish I had done before when I was a student. Back then, I could go to the forest and actually have a good time. Now I have to spend a lot of time doing everything that the Forest Committee wants me to do, like getting up so I can do some running on the forest grounds.
I can totally relate. When I was younger, I had this idea that by going to the forest, I would be able to just run around and do whatever the hell I wanted. Now it’s like I’m really forced to do things, and if I don’t like it, then I have to do it anyway. The Forest Committee won’t let me do anything outside of the park unless there’s a sign that says “NO HIKING”.
Virginia Tech is a state park, so you can go there and do whatever you want. But be aware that the Forest Committee wants everyone not to go there, unless they are in a meeting. There are no signs saying you can’t go to the forest, and you have to go through a gate that you have to pass through to enter the forest. In some parts of the forest there are trails that lead up to the park, so you can hike there.
The Forest Committee wants everyone who likes to go outside of the park to go there, because the Forest is a beautiful, forested area that can be enjoyed by all.
