To be fair, tech is an umbrella term for a lot of different things. So I wouldn’t really call Tech “the big one.” Technology is a huge topic that encompasses everything from the latest iPhone to the latest PC. In the past few years, though, the tech industry has really gone bonkers. It’s not just Microsoft that has been affected.
Tech is one of those things that I would categorize into the umbrella term “information”. People tend to use that term with a specific meaning and then talk about all the other tech that they use. But I think it is important to understand that the term “tech” actually refers to a huge range of different things.

With all this technology being thrown at us, we have the tendency to think that all of the technology is the same. But in reality, most of these things are very different. Take for example computers. For most of us, we’re probably familiar with a PC as a computer, and then we might have a PC with a monitor. But then there’s also a whole lot of other devices that are used to interact with a PC.
For example, you might have your laptop, your tablet, and your phone. But then you also might have your smartwatch, your smart glasses, and your home assistant.
The idea of all of these devices being the same is an oversimplification, and there are many different kinds of devices. But they all have the same name: a computer. Which is good because we can more easily remember all of them, but bad because we tend to think that we know what all of those things are.
Most of these things are referred to by the generic term “computer.” But they’re really different devices that are very different from each other. The most recognizable computer is the one with a keyboard and a monitor. But this computer is only one way in which you interact with a PC. The other way you interact with a PC is through whatever software you use to interact with the PC. That’s why it’s called a computer.
Computer is a very broad term. It can apply to almost any computer, hardware, or software you might use. For the purposes of this article, we are talking about a computer that has a keyboard and a monitor. To make an analogy, we might think of a computer that has a television screen or a projector screen. These are examples of computer devices. They are not computers in the sense that we are talking about in this article.
